Montana National Day of Prayer - 2018
Mission and Vision
The mission of the National Day of Prayer Task Force is to mobilize prayer in America and to encourage personal repentance and righteousness in the culture and to mobilize unified, public prayer for America.
The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Our Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America’s leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.

Prayer for Montana
Father God, thank You for Your love and this opportunity to glorify your name in unity in the mighty name of Jesus. Thank you for your Holy Spirit to lead and guide us in all truth. Thank you Father God for your predestined purpose for Montana, the “Treasure State”.
In 2 Corinthians 4:7: “We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not of ourselves”.We invite You to be God, King and Ruler over us, and we dedicate this state to You for your will, your promises and for your glory.
We declare that Montana, known as the “Big Sky Country” will serve the Lord. May You pour out Your Spirit of grace and mercy upon us and help us to rise up in righteousness and integrity. May this “Land of the Shining Mountains” shine forth the light of Christ as a city on a hill. Let Your righteousness be established in this state.Forgive us for our unfaithfulness and not following your ways. May we humble ourselves, pray and turn from our sinful ways, and seek you with our whole hearts that you would heal our land.
Lord, we ask that the boundaries of our state be surrounded by the protective shed Blood of Jesus and we pray that every fortress of darkness and opposition to Your will and purposes would crumble and fall, just as Jericho’s walls fell at the sound of the shofars and the shout of God’s chosen people.
May Your kingdom come, Your will be done in Montana. May Your wisdom and your righteousness come into every area of influence of our society. Raise up righteous leaders, who have integrity and will not compromise your standards in all levels government. May they have wisdom, knowledge and understanding and clearly hear Your voice directing them.
Breathe into those places that have suffered death and destruction in our state and bring forth Your life and light. Lord, revive your church and deliver it from any influences that would not honor You. Bless our economy so that there will be prosperity in our land. Lord God, as watchmen we watch in vain unless You build our state. Therefore, let Your eyes be upon us and watch over us for good and not destruction. and establish Your truth in our communities. It is through the blessing of the upright that our nation is exalted, but by the mouth of the wicked it is destroyed. So we pronounce Your blessings over our state and declare that every curse is broken. Empower us to live in unity with each other without prejudice or discrimination so that You will be exalted and honored through us in all 56 counties.
As stated in Haggai 2:5-9 (5)Fear Not (6)For thus says the Lord of hosts: Yet once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land. (7) And I will shake all nations, so that the treasures of all nations shall come in, and I will fill this house with glory, says the Lord of hosts (8)The silver is mine, and gold is mine, declares the Lord of hosts. (9) The latter glory of this house shall be greater than the former, says the Lord of hosts. And in this place I will give peace, declares the Lord of hosts.”
May this state prosper and be an iron pillar, a bronze wall that stands up against the enemy and cannot be overcome.
We pray these things in the mighty and all powerful name of Jesus. Amen
